Importance Of Moisturizers For Your Skin

Sebum is the skin's natural lubricant. It helps prevent friction from damaging the outer layer of the skin, provides nutrition and has little antibacterial activity.

When sebum ages and mixes with air, sweat, or dirt, it has an unpleasant odor. Excessive sebum production is believed to play a role in acne, and insufficient sebum production is the cause of dry skin. Therefore, moisturizers and compacting body lotion  are used to prevent dry skin

Like topical moisturizers, sebum works to retain moisture in skin cells. When the outer cells dry out, they itch and peel. So your goal is to remove excess sebum before it stinks, without exposing the skin.

Facial toners are used to remove excess sebum. It is advisable not to use soap on your face as it is a combination of fatty acids and alkalis, usually oils. It makes our skin very dry. Soaps are the driest, but there are some glycerin soaps that are less dry. Glycerin is a natural moisturizer. In addition, the extra fat in laundry detergent helps reduce the risk of dryness, peeling and itching.

Some experts recommend exfoliating the skin daily in addition to regular washing. The usefulness of this recommendation is unclear.

Lastly, it's important to apply a moisturizer after cleansing, whether you're using the best toner or not. Your next step is to figure out which moisturizer is the best.
